A Teaching Fellow is needed for the class GOVT 1008: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems. The position requires a previous background using ArcGIS software, and offers the chance to practice those skills by aiding students who are currently learning to use the program. The Out of Eden Walk project is a 7-year storytelling walk across the world. In a new educational initiative funded by this project, the CGA will be offering two free mapping workshops this fall. Each full day workshop will teach students how to make basic reference and thematic maps, and an interactive online story map using geotagged photos and GPS locations. This full-day workshop to be held December 4, 2015, offers hands on instruction on learning and applying several GIS and mapping techniques commonly used by those practicing in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The workshop will include discussion and interactive exercises aimed to contextualize the usage of geography and maps for each participant's individual research or teaching interests. Call for Bike Riders for the Urban Emotions Project

The Urban Emotions project investigates the use of emotion information in urban planning for the creation of more citizen-centred cities. We are seeking participants for a field test in Boston/Cambridge, in which we investigate the bike ability of the city. Participants just need to ride a bike wearing the emotions sensors for an hour, no track restrictions. For more information and to sign up.

Annual Peter Gould Student Paper Award

The Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group (HMGSG) of AAG invites current undergraduate and graduate students to submit their work to the specialty group's annual Peter Gould Student Paper Competition.
