Harvard DataFest 2019 This event is a two-day workshop developed by data practitioners and researchers from across the university that is being held Jan. 22 and 23, 2019. Hosted by the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS), this event is open to the public. See all of the DataFest details.

Cartographic and GIS Education in India The CGA’s Jeff Blossom was recently in India teaching cartography and GIS workshops to students from 5th grade to graduate level as part of the Out of Eden Walk project. CGA Winter and Spring Workshops Coming up in 2019 the CGA will be teaching the instructor led workshops Basic Introduction to GIS (February 1) and Cartography (April 26). The Winter GIS Institute (January 8-18) is full with a waitlist, application is closed. However, GIS Institute Summer 2019 (June 4-14) is open for application.

2019 Student Award Competitions Both undergraduate and graduate students are invited to participate in the Esri Development Center Student of the Year Award (Submission deadline March 10, 2019) and the Fisher Prize for Excellence in GIS (Submission deadline April 21, 2019).
